Dr. Scott Spector was born and educated in New York. He graduated from a six-year medical program and trained as an ophthalmologist at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary. He completed a Glaucoma fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania. He founded Spector Eyecare in Norwalk, CT where he has practiced for over 30 years. Dr. Spector has always been a prolific cataract surgeon. In 1999, he built and developed the New Vision Cataract and Laser Surgical Center in Norwalk. He has been on the front line in developing small incisions, laser-assisted, refractive cataract surgery.
During your consultation, he will sit with you and establish realistic visual goals based on both your desires and the health of your eyes. Dr. Spector believes that the reason he has been so successful with refractive cataract surgery is his tremendous experience in both cataract and Lasik surgery. There is more to it than technically performing a good operation. Eye dominance, surgical technique, modern surgical lasers, selection of the appropriate implant, and education to set patient expectations are all important parts of the equation.

In 2021 I had my cataracts done on both eyes. Before the procedure Dr. Spector clearly explained in detail all the possible venues for the operation to assure me that everything would be under control.
