Change Your Life With LASIK From Spector Eye Care!

For the 162 million people in the U.S. who wear glasses or contacts, LASIK is a way to get out from underneath one of life’s more pestering daily rituals. Imagine seeing the alarm clock, going for your morning run or making breakfast without the hunt for, or reliance on glasses or contacts.

At Spector Eye Care, our specialists utilize the Alcon Femtosecond LenSx Laser to perform your LASIK treatment. This exciting, life-changing procedure takes only minutes to perform and can reduce or eliminate a lifetime of dependence on glasses and contact lenses.

What is LASIK?

LASIK is an acronym that stands for Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis. In order for the eye to focus light clearly on the retina, the cornea must be of the proper curvature. In LASIK, very minute quantities of the patient's corneal tissue are removed by laser, predictably altering the shape of the cornea and in turn correcting the refractive error that caused the patient's nearsightedness, farsightedness, and/or astigmatism. Modern All Laser Wavefront Optimized LASIK may even help patients achieve better vision than is possible with glasses or contacts.

LASIK is an FDA approved procedure that's painless, fast, and effective. It is the most common eye surgery performed in the country and the world's most popular refractive procedure. Millions of patients are appreciating excellent vision and enhanced lifestyle without having to resort to glasses or contacts. At Spector Eye Care, we use the most advanced techniques and technology available in corrective surgery to achieve optimum vision and help change the way you see the world.

Establishing your candidacy for LASIK requires an in-office examination. During your exam you will be able to ask questions related to many elements of LASIK eye surgery and eye surgery in general. Feel free to discuss LASIK cost and financing options at this time. NOT all LASIK procedures are the same, so be certain to ask about the different types that we offer and are offered by other practices.

What People Say About Us!

Dr Spector and his team are top notch. From initial evaluation - through cataract surgery- and follow up, I couldn’t have asked for better care. I highly recommend him.

Bladeless LASIK Technology

During LASIK, a hinged flap is created in the cornea to allow access for the vision correction. In the past, the corneal flap was created by a mechanical device, which used a blade (microkeratome). Today, we offer our Spector Eye Care patients entirely blade-free LASIK using a Femtosecond Laser to create the corneal flap. Using this bladeless LASIK procedure, the Femtosecond laser delivers millions of tiny, micron-sized bubbles that gently separate the layers of corneal tissue. This creates a customized corneal flap of the desired thickness, size, orientation, and location, adding a higher level of safety and precision. This unparalleled level of control also allows more patients to qualify as LASIK candidates and virtually eliminates many of the complications associated with the past mechanical approach.
