Had a great experience with the Dr. Schanz, highly recommend.
My niece and a friend had gone to Dr. Spector. Upon their recommendations, and a rave review from the friend, I had cataract surgery done on both eyes. It was the best choice I ever made! I didn’t realize that I was seeing the world through a yellowish tint. Now everything is bright and clear! White is actually white! The staff at Spector Eye Care were kind and courteous. Dr. Spector was very friendly. He performed excellent surgery on my eyes. No pain or discomfort. Just clear vision! Interesting enough, I had seen another eye doctor prior to Dr. Spector. I was told I had cataracts but they weren’t bad, that surgery wasn’t needed yet. He said he’d see me in a year. When I told my friend, she said I should see Dr. Spector for a second opinion. I am thrilled that I took her advice! I’m seeing the world as it really is, and without the aide of glasses! Thank you so much, Dr. Spector, for your help.
Everything went as planned. Dr Spector took the time to explain everything. The staff was great. Everyone was caring and wonderful.
Excellent care !!
Excellent facility and Brian and Dr Spector were fantastic in explaining things
Below is my positive referral for Dr. Spector: Not all ophthalmologists are created equal. While most experienced surgeons will give you a good result, some are better than others. One never knows if your eye will have some problems that are not typical and Dr. Spector uses the femto-second laser which, I think, is a superior tool to the hand-held scalpel, especially in problematic cases. He has had decades of experience using lasers. I paid extra and got the Pan-Optic tri-focal lens installed and I am very happy with my current vision, which if not 20/20 is pretty close to that. I do not use glasses for either reading or driving. The lens does give me a a bit of a halo around bright lights at night but I find it otherwise acceptable. If you are very particular about your eyesight and are willing to wear glasses, you could go for the cheaper lens. Since Dr. Spector also does Lasik, if the cheaper lens has any issues for you, he can also use lasik on the cornea later to improve visibility. There is also a new Light-Adjustable Lens which is much more expensive and will need multiple post-operative visits to fine tune. I think that I do not need this level of perfection, but everyone is different. My cataracts had gradually dulled my color perception, especially to blue light. The vividness of color after surgery was striking. I got my right eye implanted in September 2022 and my left eye shortly thereafter. I can think of no better time than to get your surgery done in the fall in New England when the foliage is brilliant and the sky is bright blue. I strongly recommend Dr. Spector and wish you the best of luck in your surgery.
I had Panotax lenses to correct for cataracts and Dr Spector did a fabulous job.
After searching for 2 years to find an Ophthalmologist to remove cataracts in both of my eyes, a co-worker suggested that I contact Dr. Spector at Spector Eye Care in Norwalk, CT. The entire staff at Spector Eye Care and New Vision Cataract Center were professional, caring, and friendly. Dr. Spector clearly explained the different types of lenses available and showed a diagram of the procedure. He also explained that the procedure would be painless and that I would be happy with the results. I decided on the PanOptix lenses and I highly recommend using laser. I’m very pleased with the PanOptix lenses and the results of my eye surgery.
For as long as I could remember, my eyes were constantly very irritated with what felt like fine dust or gravel in both, which blurred my vision, and was painful. After being diagnosed about a decade ago while living in FL by my Optometrist, I have dry eyes. His prognosis was over-the-counter (OTC) eye drops. Each time I had a follow-up I advised no change, and he would then recommend another and another (OTC), meanwhile my vision was getting blurred and so much discomfort with the awful feeling of gravel scraping them. My Optometrist then referred me to an Ophthalmologist and after testing, he confirmed I have dry eyes; and more OTC eye drops, this time REFRESH. It helped for a minute. I was throwing away $$ with those OTCs, and none helped long term. The irritation, the dust feeling, the blurred vision, so much discomfort. After relocating to Ct and asking folks at work about their Ophthalmologist, a former colleague told me she has been going to Dr. Spector for decades and would not change him, ever. For the last 18 months under the care of Dr. Spector, I can honestly declare there has been a huge change in my vision! After examining my eyes and knowing my history, Dr. Spector prescribed RESTASIS. The first prescription eye drops ever offered to me, and they took care of my issues after several uses. Dr. Spector's bedside manners are what we all look for in doctors and appreciate. I find his staff very courteous, especially his ophthalmic technician/assistant they are always very friendly easy to talk to, and caring. Dr. Spector is very compassionate and concerned about my issues. He listens carefully, asks questions, and we have a true conversation during my visits. After all these years of discomfort, and painful eyes, I am free from the ‘gravel’ Thank you Dr. Spector, for your care.
After having cataract surgery at Spector Eye Care, here in Norwalk, I found the lenses I selected were not what I wanted so Dr. Spector used Lasik to correct my choice and now my eyes are perfect. I found Dr. Spector and his staff to be caring and extremely knowledgable. I would recommend Dr. Spectopr to anyone that wants their eyes cared for in a professional manner.
